Introduced by Concept Boats founder Luis Avila, the largest current model in the Opa-locka, Fla., builder’s performance-oriented center console line is a 44-footer. Now his 27-year-old son, Eric, who is the vice president of the company is going even bigger with a 53-footer slated for release in 2025. Avila worked on designing the center console for the past year-and-a-half.
“My dad let me run with it,” he explained. “At first, he told me no. Then he told me, ‘OK, if you can get three orders for it, we will build it.’ Well, I got the orders.
“Next is year Concept’s 39th anniversary,” he continued. “The 53 will celebrate that anniversary.
Though the new model will be offered with several interior configurations, the front row of bolsters with five seats with the helm position at the center, which is Avila’s personal preference will be standard. Power options for the 14-foot beam model will include quad or quint Mercury Marine Verado V-12 600-hp engines and fix or six Mercury Racing 450R outboards. Avila said he expects “standard power” to be either four 600-hp or six 500-hp outboards.

Avila is particularly excited about his plans for the center console’s cabin, which will include 7 feet of maximum headroom, a forward statement room with a separate guest bathroom, a full galley and an aft cabin.
“The 44 was my dad’s dream,” he said. “The 53 is my dream.”
