Breaking—Roar Offshore Now Under Race World Offshore Umbrella
It’s been a busy few weeks for Race World Offshore. In addition to producing this week’s American Power Boat Association Offshore World Championships in Key West, Fla., which kick off today following Wednesday’s tropical storm-forced racing cancelation, the APBA member-organization added the Great Lakes Grand Prix in Michigan City, Ind., to its 2025 event roster in late October. And yesterday, Race World Offshore founder Larry Bleil and company added Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach to next year’s schedule.

That makes the Southwest Florida race, dormant since 2020, eligible to be part of the 2025 APBA Offshore National Championship Series.
The news was announced yesterday morning during the APBA “State Of The Union” meeting for APBA members in Key West. Tim and Cyndee Hill, the leader organizers of Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach, were delighted by the official announcement. Following the meeting, they headed to the Great Lakes Grand Prix “meet-and-greet” brunch at the Pier House Resort and Spa.
“Everyone at Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach is delighted about the partnership between our event and Race World Offshore, which will bring an APBA national points race to Fort Myers Beach next year,” said Tim Hill. “Roar Offshore and Race World Offshore share the same vision for the sport with a heavy emphasis on safety and continuity across race sites. We look forward to the successful return of offshore racing on Fort Myers Beach.”
