Boyne Thunder Poker Run At $250,000 In Sponsorship Funding—And Counting
Just five days from now, sponsor registration for the 20th annual Boyne Thunder Poker Run, set for July 7-9 and based out of Boyne City, Mich., will close. The good news, according to Boyne Thunder events coordinator Ingrid Day, is that almost 60 sponsors have signed up to the tune of $250,000 for the happening, which raises money for the Camp Quality Michigan and Challenge Mountain programs for children.

And there are still five more days for sponsor sign-ups.
“We are making one final push this week for folks to be a part of an unforgettable Boyne Thunder weekend, all in the name of charity,” she said.
The sponsorship-funding drive is already ahead of last year’s total at this time, which was $190,000-plus with five days to go before it closed. Prior to the 2022 happening, the high-total for all proceeds from Boyne Thunder was $210,000. That mark was achieved in 2018.
The 2022 event’s record-setting $250,000 fundraising total got a big boost from the post-run Saturday night auction. That key event element raised approximately $140,000 and doubled the proceeds from the Boyne Thunder auction’s prior best year.
Based in idyllic Boyne City, Mich., the Boyne City Poker Run will celebrate is 20th birthday this year.
General registration for the event, which is limited to 120 boats, opens March 1.
