Borden Light Marina Charity Poker Run Registration Open
Popular with performance-boating fans, particularly of the brawny V-bottoms kind, the 18th annual Borden Light Marina Charity Poker Run in Fall River, Mass., opened registration this week. The event, which is organized by Mike and Nicole Lund is set for August 2-3 and benefits the Make-A-Wish of Massachusetts and Rhode Island organization and Tunnels To Towers Foundation.
Last year, the event attracted 60-plus boats. This time around, the organizers are shooting for a 75-boat turnout.

For Dan Kleitz, the general manager of Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats in nearby Bristol, R.I., the Borden Light run is a must. As such, it tends to attract a solid contingent of Outerlimits V-bottom owners.
“The entire team there puts on a great event right in our own back yard,” Kleitz explained. “While we are not doing a sanctioned factory fun run to is year, I urge all of our customers to come attend this event. It will be an awesome time and well-worth whatever travel is involved.”
The Borden Light Marina-based event is heading into its 18th year.
In 2023, Florida Powerboat Club president Stu Jones ran his Top Gun Flight 1130 Cigarette in the Borden Light event for the first time. Jones included a run to Block Island that weekend and enjoyed the entire experience, though he won’t be returning this year.
“I would do it again—it was really fun—but I’m not doing a summer tour this coming summer at all,” he said. “Instead, I’m focusing on FPC Bahamas events. And I want to travel overseas.”
Said Mike Lund following the 2023 event, “I’m incredibly proud of everyone who helped make this event what it is today. Our goal next year is to attract 75 boats from longer distances to come enjoy our awesome weekend of boating and celebrating while contributing to wonderful causes.”
