With a week-and-a-half to go, the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run in Clayton, N.Y., still has a few slots open for high-performance powerboat owners. But if you want to enjoy the spectacle but don’t have a boat? To that end, Uncle Sam Boat Tours has teamed up with Make-A-Wish of Central New York and the River Hospital Wellness Program to create “Waves Of Wishes,” which offers two poker-run boat tours—morning and afternoon—for the July 14-16 event.

The vessels from Uncle Sam’s Boat Tours will depart on July 16. The first will leave Clayton at 9:45 a.m. and return at 11:45, which give the spectators on board a close-up view of the poker-run start. The second vessel will depart nearby Alexandria Bay at 1:45 p.m. so spectators can catch the poker-run fleet leaving its afternoon lunch stop and will return to its starting point at 3 p.m.
All proceeds will go to benefit Make-A-Wish of Central New York and River Hospital. Ticket prices are $25 for adults, $20 for military personnel and $12.50 children from five to 12 years old. Admission for younger children is free.
Tickets for the morning outing departing from Clayton can be purchased by clicking here. Tickets for the afternoon trip departing Alexandria Bay can be purchased by clicking here.
