Big Thunder Marine Stars In Its Own Show

Despite weather that barely scratched 40 degrees last Friday and Saturday at the Lake of the Ozarks, Big Thunder Marine’s Speed and Luxury Showroom and Family Boating Center locations bustled on both days. That’s because in lieu of participating in this week’s Miami International Boat Show, the multi-brand dealership at the Central Missouri waterway hosted a two-day boat show of its own.

Big Thunder Marine had plenty of top-notch hardware on display at its own boat show last weekend.

After Friday’s turnout, the Big Thunder Marine’s Ed Champion said he and his team were hoping the Saturday turnout would be “half as good.” But it wasn’t. It was better.

“It was over the top,” he said. “Saturday exceeded our expectations.”

Added Champions fellow Big Thunder salesman Chad Franzen, “There was a constant flow of people the entire day.”

The dealership had several go-fast beauties showcased in its Speed and Luxury Showroom. The boats displayed included Cigarette 42 Auroris and 41 Nighthawk center consoles and a Fountain 38 SCX center console.

The second-year event was busy on both days.

Producing their own show had an added advantage for the team-members at the dealership, meaning no travel beyond their daily commute during the week.

Being able to go home to our own beds each night was pretty great,” Franzen said, then chuckled.
