Visitors to today’s Lake Race Street Party—a warm-up event in advance of tomorrow’s main event on the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri—will find a fleet of black-hued powerboats in the Big Thunder Marine exhibit on the Bagnell Dam Strip. The multi-brand, multi-location dealership headquartered in Lake Ozark will display a range of offerings from the lines it offers during the exhibition, which is open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Available for purchase, this 42 Auroris is the first new Cigarette Racing Team model Big Thunder Marine has received since becoming the company’s Midwest dealer in March.
“We are going all out with a crazy matching display,” said Jeremy Anderson, the dealership’s general manager. “We will have a full black-and-gold display of cars and bikes as well as a matching black-and-gold Mastercraft X-Star (towboat).
“We’ll even have a matching black Crest tri-toon on display,” he added.
Among the models Big Thunder will showcase is a new Fountain Powerboats 34 Thunder Cat owned by Nick Pollard of Colorado. The 34-footer, which is powered by twin Mercury Racing 300R outboard engines, was the subject of a story Thursday on speedonthewater.com. It will be paired with another Fountain model—a 32NX center console equipped with triple 300Rs—from the Washington, N.C., boat builder.
On the Cigarette Racing Team side, Big Thunder Marine will exhibit the first model it has received from the Opa-locka, Fla., sportboat and center console builder since becoming its Midwest dealer in March.
Featured earlier this week on speedonthewater.com, this Fountain 34 Thunder Cat will be on display today at the Big Thunder Marine Exhibit in the Lake Race Street Party.
“We’ll display a new 2022 Cigarette 42 Auroris that is available for immediate delivery,” said Anderson. “We were lucky enough to pick it up after an overseas buyer canceled.”
Branded apparel from Baja, Fountain and Donzi also will be on display and for sale in the Big Thunder exhibit.
The Lake Race is the second event of the eight-race American Power Boat Association Offshore National Championship Series, which kicked off last month in Cocoa Beach, Fla.
