Bell’s Brewery Releases Beer in Support of Great Lakes Alliance
Bell’s Brewery announced its new Lager for the Lakes in support of the Great Lakes, encouraging fans to join in helping to protect freshwater resources. ”The new beer has little in common with its predecessor (Lager of the Lakes, a Bohemian Pilsner) — except for a single-letter twist on the name that changes its meaning. Replacing “of” with “for” is intentionally designed to inspire more people to get involved in protecting the lakes we love to enjoy,” said a Bell’s representative, reports wwmt.com.
Fans can join Bell’s in support of the Alliance for the Great Lakes through participating in the Adopt-a-Beach Program. Bell’s and the Alliance will be hosting two beach clean-up events during the summer, with details and dates to be announced.
The new easy-drinking American lager offers a QR code on every can that customers can scan to join Bell’s in its commitment to protect clean water. In addition, Bell’s is contributing $25,000 to the Alliance for the Great Lakes and its mission.
“For the name, we added exactly one letter. But behind that small change is an entirely new beer we think will fill our summertime memories for years to come. As well as a far deeper story around protecting the lakes that give us so much,” said Carrie Yunker, executive vice president at Bell’s Brewery, reports wwmt.com.
Lager for the Lakes is available on draft and in 12-pack cans across Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania and Kentucky.
