Another First-Time Destination On Tap For Fort Myers Offshore

Another First-Time Destination On Tap For Fort Myers Offshore

Courtesy of Hurricane Milton last October, Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda, Fla., still lacks the dockage required to host a Fort Myers Offshore lunch run. So club organizers Tim and Cyndee looked for a replacement for this Saturday’s event. But they didn’t want to return to a destination the nonprofit scholarship fundraising group has already visited this season.

Being who they are when it comes to diligence and persistence, they found something.

Last year’s early March event saw sporty water conditions. Photos by Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

“I’m happy to say that Cyndee has secured Three Fisherman Restaurant on the Caloosahatchee River for our March 1 run,” said her husband. “Three Fisherman has a ton of beautiful floating docks and can accommodate all of us. It will be a great lunch party by the pool.

Last year’s Burnt Store Marina run attracted 60 boats. Hill is expecting a similar if not greater turnout for the trek to the new venue.

“We’ve never been to this spot before,” he said, then chuckled. “It can’t be any tighter than Riviera Bar and Grill was with 106 boats and 500 people for our Holiday Fun Run in December, and we made that work.”

Registration for the event, which is free to current Fort Myers Offshore members, is still open. All vessels participating in Fort Myers Offshore events are required to carry proof of insurance and have a club membership. Would-be members can join the club by clicking here.

Fort Myers Offshore member Chuck Stark and company enjoyed last year’s Crypto SV 43 Outerlimits he owned at the time.
