AkzoNobel Delivers New Antifouling Solutions for Boat Owners
Prep season is here and AkzoNobel’s new advanced antifoulings are a great maintenance solution for getting your boat water ready. Micron Navigator and Micron Extra SPC are both top-of-the-line antifoulings that focus on innovation, time and cost savings and reducing the environmental impact on the industry.
Micron Navigator is a water-based formula that is easy to use and creates a smoother hull surface over time resulting in improved efficiency and reduction in paint build up. A bow-to-stern solution, it eliminates the need for application of two separate antifoulings, and is available in a range of bright colors, suitable for indoor and outdoor application, and has a temperature range of 41 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees.
Micron Extra SPC offers self-polishing copolymer technology that helps ensure consistent and sustained release of antifouling protection, so even when your boat is at doc, the antifouling will react with the water to continue the polishing action. It offers a premium level of protection usually found on the superyacht category, and minimizes drag improving hull efficiency.
“Since its launch in 1979, our Micron range has set the standard for innovation and protection for boaters worldwide for more than 40 years, and is renowned for its continued innovation and exceptional performance,” says Matthew Anzardo, Global Yacht Segment manager at AkzoNobel Yacht Coatings. “With the launch of Micron Extra SPC and Micron Navigator, we have raised the bar yet again…But we are also committed to developing products that are easy to use for boat owners who want to carry out their own maintenance work.”
