AFDF Names Kristy Clement to Fill CEO Post

Kristy Clement, raised in the Kodiak Island community of Port Lions, was on Nov. 28 named the chief executive officer of the Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation (AFDF).

Clement, who chairs the board of the Afognak Native Corp., with offices in Kodiak, has a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Alaska Pacific University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Washington. She said her goals include ensuring that Alaska’s blue economy is well-positioned for future growth.

In her work with the Afognak Native Corp., Clement has been instrumental in developing and executing strategies aimed at ensuring a sustainable future for the corporation’s shareholders and the broader Alaska Native community.

AFDF, founded in 1978 as a 501(c )3 under the Magnuson-Stevens Fisheries Conservation and Management Act, is dedicated to identifying opportunities within the Alaska seafood industry.
