The 2025 NPFL Field: Elite Anglers, Iconic Champions, and Rising Stars
The 2025 National Professional Fishing League (NPFL) roster is the most talented and diverse group of professional anglers in league history. Featuring 118 top-tier competitors from 23 states, this year’s lineup promises exciting competition and unmatched skill on the water.
What Makes the 2025 NPFL Field Stand Out?
This year’s roster is packed with fishing legends, emerging talent, and experienced NPFL veterans. Key highlights include:
- A Star-Studded Lineup: The field boasts former Bassmaster Classic champions Hank Cherry and Jason Christie, as well as Forrest Wood Cup champions Justin Atkins, Greg Hackney, and Scott Suggs. Returning NPFL titleholders include 2024 Progressive Angler of the Year Kyle Welcher and 2024 NPFL Champion Brandon Perkins.
- Dedicated NPFL Veterans: Ten anglers, including Hunter Baughman, Dan Blackert, and Kevin Rogers, have competed in every NPFL season since its launch in 2021.
- Broad State Representation: Anglers from North Carolina (20), South Carolina (14), Alabama (12), and Georgia and Tennessee (11 each) lead the pack, highlighting the league’s wide reach.
A League Committed to Excellence
The NPFL’s selection process sets a high standard, prioritizing both professional achievement and personal character.
“It’s difficult to express how excited we are with the anglers who are joining us on our 2025 journey,” said NPFL president Brad Fuller. “In all, more than 150 anglers applied to fish the NPFL in 2025, and we pared that list down to these 118 who share our passion, our vision, and our commitment to the sport.”
Unlike other leagues that rely on tournament performance alone, the NPFL’s in-depth vetting process ensures a better experience for anglers, fans, and the sport.
“It’s a time-consuming and interpersonal process,” Fuller added, “but we believe it leads to a better experience for everyone involved and that it better serves our sport.”
New Faces Bring Fresh Energy
Forty anglers are new to the league this year, including seasoned champions and ambitious newcomers eager to make their mark.
