Performance Boat Center Selling Super Stock Raceboat
Is it the end of an era or the beginning of a new one? Either way, Performance Boat Center is selling its 2019 model-year, world-championship-winning 32-foot Super Stock-class Doug Wright raceboat.
End of an era or new beginning? Either way, the Performance Boat Center Super Stock raceboat is for sale.
The listing went live yesterday with a bit of tongue-in-cheek verbiage.
“This boat has always been professionally maintained by PBC, only driven on Sundays, always garage-kept and adult-driven,” the text reads.
Given that Performance Boat Center’s Myrick Coil drove and Rusty Williams throttled the catamaran in offshore racing’s most competitive class, the “adult” part of the listing strains credulity, as Coil admitted this morning.
“It should say only driven by crazy kids,” he said, then chuckled.
Though it hasn’t spent much time in the winners’ circle of late, the 32-footer has a pedigree of success. Photo by Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.
The obvious question, of course, revolves around Performance Boat Center’s future in the sport. Brett Manire, who co-owns the Osage Beach, Mo., dealership with Mark Waddington, isn’t talking. At least yet.
In the meantime, the 32-footer powered by Mercury Racing 300R outboard engines is for sale.
Said Coil, “She is a good one. I am going to miss her. She’s going to make someone a really good boat, though.”
