Carpitella Joins 450R Factory Stock Montlick Injury Attorneys Team In Time For The Midwest Challenge

Leading the 450R Factory Stock class in the American Power Boat Association Offshore National Championship Series, the Atlanta-based Montlick Injury Attorneys team just made itself that much more formidable. The team, which runs a 38-foot Doug Wright Powerboats catamaran, has secured the throttleman services of famed Italian racer Giovanni Carpitella. He will join the team for this weekend’s Midwest Challenge event in Sheboygan, Wis.

The news was announced by the team in a press release this morning.

Logan Adan, the son of Doug Wright Powerboats ownership-group member J.R. Adan, will retain his role as driver. The team began the 2024 season with Ricky Maldonado in the throttleman position. Veteran throttleman Gary Ballough had the seat at the Ocean City Grand Prix in Marlyland, the most recent event on the APBA circuit.

Carpitella currently competes in the XCAT series as the throttleman for 222 Offshore team own/driver Daren Nicholson. Most recently, he teamed up in the Grand Prix of Palermo XCAT event in Italy with Class 1 Defalco team owner/driver Mike Falco.

Last season, Carpitella and Nicolson dominated the Union Internationale Motonautique Class 1 World Championship series in the 222 Offshore Australia raceboat. Though the team is not competing in the current UIM Class 1 World Championship, Carpitella and Nicholson plan rejoin the Class 1 fleet in the 222 Offshore Australia raceboat for the Race World Offshore-produced APBA Key West World Championship in early November.

Carpitella last competed stateside with the 222 Offshore Australia team at the 2023 Key West World Championship.

“I’m excited to continue Montlick’s impressive season,” said Carpitella in a press release this morning. “With Logan, I’m confident we can achieve even greater success I know a winning team when I see one, and Montlick is it.”

Added sponsor David Montlick of Montlick Injury Attorneys in the release, “We know that the right team can make all the difference, in the courtroom and on the water. We’re excited to continue our amazing inaugural season and welcome Giovanni.”
