Outerlimits And DCB Out For Miami Show Exhibits But In For Demos

Though Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats displayed two new SC 37 catamarans at the 2023 Miami International Boat Show, the company won’t showcase anything at the event’s Miami Beach Convention Center or Sea Isle Marina and Yachting Center venues this year. But the Bristol, R.I., catamaran and V-bottom builder will have a 37-footer at a nearby location in Coconut Grove during the show, which runs February 14-18, and the cat will be available for demo rides by appointment according to Dan Kleitz, the company’s general manager.

Though it won’t be kept in public locations, an Outerlimits SC 37—though not the one pictured above—will be available for demos next week during the Miami International Boat Show. Photos by Pete Boden Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

Kleitz said that he simply didn’t have a boat available to exhibit this year.

“We have a few brand-new completed boats and some nearing completion at the shop, but their owners opted to keep them safe and sound at the factory rather than at a show,” he explained. “It’s the customer’s $1 million-plus Outerlimits, not mine, so the choice is theirs and I respect that.

“I will still be coming down to see people in attendance for the show and to do some demo rides on our one of our SC 37s,” he continued. “People can contact me directly and set up a time for a ride. We are still the only manufacturer that can produce world-class V-bottoms and catamarans, thanks to our amazing team at the factory. I look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting some new ones. And I am looking forward to the Florida Powerboat Club/Speed On The Water Miami Boat Show Bash.”

DCB Performance Marine also will host demo-rides in one of its catamarans at Coconut Grove during the 2024 Miami event.

Likewise DCB Performance Marine had an outboard-powered catamaran—a new M37R Widebody courtesy of South Florida-based owners Greg Harris and Yvonne Aleman—exhibited in 2022 at Sea Isle Marina and Yachting Center but won’t have anything on public-display this year. Jeff Johnston, the president of the Phoenix-headquartered catamaran builder, said the company will have a 37-footer available for demo rides by appointment at the Coconut Grove location.

“People can contact (DCB vice president) Tony Chiaramonte to set up demo rides,” Johnston said.
