Pantera Boats To Deliver Reimagined 24-Footers

Owned by Carbon Marine and currently headquartered in Ontario, Canada, Pantera Boats is slated to deliver a trio of all-carbon-fiber Classic Sport 24 V-bottoms to owners in Canada, Detroit and South Florida between now and the end of July. The news was announced this morning in a press release from the company.

The 24-footer has been updated with a new deck. But its original 24-degree hull and seven-foot beam remain the same since the V-bottom was released in the early 1970s and was immediately successful on the offshore racecourse.

The first Classic Sport 24 V-bottoms reportedly will be delivered between now and the end of July.

“We expect that if this deep-V hull was still racing, with our re-design, light and strong carbon fiber construction and power-to-weight ratio, it would again be a champion,” said Jeff Howat, the vice-president of Carbon Marine, in the release.

According the release, the boats were constructed with “100-percent aerospace-grade carbon fiber with infusion and pre-preg carbon parts.” Updates in addition to the deck revision include Sileather and Alcantara upholstery, a Nardi steering wheel, suspension seating by Ullman Dynamics. a Rockford Fosgate sound system, twin Garmin GPS units and Lumitec lighting, which will be standard fare for all future Pantera models. Teak and synthetic teak decking with mahogany trim is available for all Pantera models, and the boats will offered with gelcoat or painted graphics.

The 24-footer can be ordered with stern-drive or outboard engine power.

Next in line for the company is its 36-footer, which will be followed by the debut of its 28-footer, according to the release. Depending on model, power and customization options, prices range from $249,000 to $900,000. Pantera offerings are currently available through UNRIEHL Performance in Michigan and New Jersey-based Marine Unlimited.

Howat the said future plans for the company include reestablishing production in South Florida, where the once-coveted brand was born.

“Pantera belongs in the Miami area,” says Howat, “Real estate is tough in Florida, but we’re confident we’ll find the right spot soon to begin building where Pantera has roots.

“We are bringing a true love of performance and respect for the brand in bringing Pantera back to life—the life it deserves with racing heritage and now a technological advantage,” he continued. “We are proud to be the steward of this iconic go-fast brand.”
