Lionfish Challenge 2023

The Lionfish Challenge is a free summer-long lionfish tournament open to recreational and commercial competitors of all ages around the state of Florida. As we kick off the 8^th year of the Lionfish Challenge, our goal remains the same: remove as many lionfish as we can in just 4 months. 

Tournament details: 

Timeline: June 1^st to October 1^st   

Categories: Participants will compete in either the commercial or the recreational division 

 Military prize: An additional grand prize to the top Active Military/Veteran competitor 

Prizes will be awarded in tiers: 

• Tier 1- 25 lionfish (recreational) or 50 lbs of lionfish (commercial) 
• Tier 2- 75 lionfish (recreational) or 250 lbs of lionfish (commercial) 
• Tier 3- 250 lionfish (recreational) or 500 lbs of lionfish (commercial) 
• Tier 4- 500 lionfish (recreational) or 1000 lbs of lionfish (commercial)
