GO BOATING FLORIDA MEMORIAL WEEK FISHING AND BOATING REPORT

GO BOATING FLORIDA MEMORIAL WEEK FISHING AND BOATING REPORT

All is good here in SW Florida with the weather and no Red Tide! Lots of boaters and their families will enjoy a holiday full of good beaching, shelling, fishing and restaurant activities. As for me, I am looking forward to catching more fish such as; Seatrouts, Snook, Redfish, Snapper, Grouper and of course this time of year, Tarpon.

Boca Grande Pass is full of Tarpon and will be through Father’s Day in June. Tarpon are being spotted off the outer islands along the beaches, while others are in Pine Island Sound. Snook are off the beaches and in the passes. Redfish in the Mangroves and oyster bar areas on high tides. Seatrout are abundant in the grass flats of Pine Island Sound and up the rivers.

Offshore; now is the time to go on less windy days for larger Lane and Mangrove Snapper as well as grouper. The water temperature is around 86 degrees, so the farther offshore one ventures the better chances for larger fish. They are hanging in about 100ft. Be sure and keep up on the regulations for both state and federal as they are subject to change.

Pictured are some of the fish that my clients have caught recently both inshore and offshore.

Fishing should be good throughout the Memorial Day Week and beyond. This is Captain Terry Fisher of Fish Face Charters, LLC. I am available for charters on my vessel that will handle up to 6 anglers. I am also available as ‘Captain for Hire’ on private vessels (by the hour), for navigational and fishing instructions that will ensure every trip is a success. Check out my website at www.fishfacecharters.com. Call me at 239-357-6829 or email me at [email protected] to book a charter or to ask me any questions that you may have regarding boating or fishing.
