450R Factory Stock And Bracket Class Racing On Tap For Saturday
In less than 24 hours, the first action of the 2024 offshore racing season kicks off at the Race World Offshore 7 Mile Offshore Grand Prix in Marathon, Fla. The first green flags are slated to fly for the Bracket, 400, 500 and 700 classes on Saturday, April 27, at 2:30 p.m.

According to the registration roster on the Race World Offshore website, the Bracket 500 class has five teams, followed by the Bracket 700 class with four teams and the Bracket 400 class with two teams. Though their starts are staggered, all three classes will be on the ??-mile racecourse at one time.
“We’re ready to go,” said Owen Buis, driver of the Statement Marine/Bad Decision team.
There are six registered for tomorrow’s 450R Factory Stock-class contest, which is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. Among them is the TS Motorsports team of driver/owner Taylor Scism and throttleman John Tomlinson, who took first place in the 2023 American Power Boat Association Offshore National Championship Series.

Their title defense begins tomorrow in Marathon, which leads off the seven-event 2024 APBA Offshore National Championship Series. Scism said that and Tomlinson are eager to begin the season.
“Randy and I have done some testing,” said Scism, referring to her famous, the founder of MTI and himself a multi-time offshore racing world champion. “We’re looking forward to starting the season.”
According to the most current Race World offshore roster, 44 teams are registered for this weekend’s races.
