Smoker Craft’s Adventurer 20 GLS makes it easy to envision early morning at the launch, mist on the lake, and a full day on the water before you. Grab its gunnel. You’ll nod once for the rugged feel and again for the Integrated Gunnel Track System. This allows mounting a wide variety of rod holders and other fishing accessories, and placing them exactly where you want them.
Now step back. Admire the hull. Smoker Craft offers the Adventurer 20 GLS in great color options. Each shines with a deep gloss, crisp lines and an exciting pattern. This is Smoker Craft’s twice-baked urethane-paint finish. Three coats of base get applied, and then the boat is baked in an oven. Next, three coats of striping go on, and the boat gets treated with heated coils. The result is a tough, long-lasting finish. And Smoker Craft’s beauty is more than skin-deep.
The transom is made from 1.5-inch pressure-treated plywood sandwiched between the aluminum transom and a second aluminum sheet, and anchored using stainless-steel bolts. Run your hand along the hull. A rolled-in lapstrake makes it more rigid and less susceptible to oil-canning than other boats. Another crucial difference: Smoker Crafts utilizes a single-piece bottom. The fuel tank is integral, and the rugged keel provides directional stability plus protection from the rocks and stumps where the big fish often hide.
Stepping inside, you’ll note that the decks and cockpit are covered in easy-to-clean vinyl (snap-in carpet is available, if desired). Flex your toes on the casting platforms so as to exert your weight: The floor here is a full 3/4-inch marine plywood. It is very rugged. Also note the large, fully aerated livewell in the stern. At the helm, there’s a standard stereo, a tilt wheel connected to Sea Star hydraulic steering, and a rugged and protective windshield. Available options include a trolling motor, an array of electronics and a variety of canvas.
