The Sea Tow Foundation announced the opening of its Life Jacket Loaner Program Grant Application for the 2024 season, with applications accepted through February 1, 2024. Administered through the U.S. Coast Guard’s Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund, the grant program enables non-profit Sea Tow Foundation to work with communities throughout the nation to promote boating safety and extend the reach of the Life Jacket Loaner Program throughout the 2024 boating season.

“We are delighted to announce the opening of the 2024 Life Jacket Loaner Program Grant Application,” says Gail R. Kulp, executive director of the Sea Tow Foundation. “We invite all members of the boating community, whether you’re a passionate boater or represent an organization, agency, or business, to apply and take part in this program. Let’s continue to champion safe and memorable experiences for all who enjoy time on the water.”

With over 1,300 stands located across all 50 states plus Washington, D.C., American Samoa and the Virgin Islands, the Sea Tow Foundation’s Life Jacket Loaner Program is the world’s largest program of its kind, started to help prevent drownings through encouraging the wearing of life jackets. Each of the loaner stations can be stocked with life jackets ranging in size from infant to adult extra-large that boaters can borrow and return free of charge.

Since the program’s inception in 2008, the Sea Tow Foundation has distributed over 100,000 life jackets to local businesses and organizations, helping families stay safe while enjoying water-based activities.
