12th Annual Thunder Bay International Film Festival Celebrates the Great Lakes
Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary’s 12th Annual Thunder Bay International Film Festival brings ocean and Great Lakes films from around the world to the shores of northeast Michigan. The only water-focused cinematic event in the state of Michigan, the film festival will take place at three different venues across three cities January 24 – 28, 2024.
Head out to three towns on Michigan’s Sunrise Side Coast: Alpena, Rogers City and Harrisville for a unique experience celebrating film and the Great Lakes. This year’s program includes the Michigan premier of Relentless, an incredible story about the people tackling the Great Lakes’ invasive species problem; the premier of the latest in Corey Adkins’ Paddling the Great Lakes series; and the first professional film competition at Thunder Bay Film Festival focused solely on Great Lakes content.
In addition to an impressive list of 68 great films, attendees can enjoy social events, educational activities, opportunities to meet the filmmakers, and a student film competition.
