Yacht Sentinel has selected Actisense as its NMEA data connectivity partner for its Sentinel Domotics solution.
Using a custom Actisense W2K-1 NMEA 2000 to wi-fi gateway, Sentinel Domotics makes it possible to turn any boat into a connected boat by providing access to NMEA 2000 data.
The system offers a smart switch which can turn the system on even when the NMEA 2000 network is switched off, meaning that all data available on the NMEA 2000 bus can be collected remotely at any time.
“The ability to collect everything from engine data, temperature, water depth, speed, GPS coordinates and more, remotely, is valuable to any boater,” said Actisense CEO, Phil Whitehurst. “What makes the Sentinel Domotics system uniquely beneficial is that, as a truly wireless solution, it can be retrofitted to any boat with an NMEA 2000 network, and all data on the NMEA 2000 bus will be accessible at any time.”
The system consists of integrated wireless products: a wi-fi-router, an NMEA 2000 gateway and the Actisense W2K-1. All information is gathered by the system and then transmitted via wi-fi or its 3G/4G connectivity to be displayed on the Yacht Sentinel partner platform and the YS Hub app.
