Wes Logan Clinches Elite Series Victory at Lake Tenkiller
Minn Kota and Humminbird pro Wes Logan claims second Elite Series title with gritty Fathers Day win on Lake Tenkiller

RACINE, W.I. (June 17, 2025) – In a stunning comeback that blended confidence, timing, and shallow-water mastery, Wes Logan secured his second Bassmaster Elite Series victory with a dominant performance at Lake Tenkiller. On Championship Sunday, Logan surged from third place by weighing the heaviest bag of the tournament—including a 5-pound, 1-ounce kicker—to post a final tally of 58 pounds, 2 ounces, earning a $100,000 prize and delivering a meaningful Father’s Day gift to his dad.

His first Elite Series win came on Mother’s Day in 2021 at Neely Henry—making this latest triumph a sentimental bookend that includes both parents in his career milestones.

Climbing the Ranks: From a Tough Season to Tournament Champion

Coming into Lake Tenkiller, Logan was ranked 40th in the Progressive Angler of the Year standings and had been battling through a difficult season.

“It’s been a tough year, and I hit a wall as a professional—so much so that I questioned whether I even belonged,” Logan admitted. “After Hartwell, I really struggled. But this week, I got a few bites flipping a jig in practice and decided I was going to fish the way I know how.”

Logan’s Day One total of 14 pounds, 12 ounces had him in 11th place, but consistency and momentum followed. With 15 pounds, 13 ounces on Day Two, he broke into the Top Five. A 15-pound, 9-ounce bag on Semifinal Saturday positioned him in third, and he capped it with a final-day limit of 16 pounds, 14 ounces—winning the event by just a single ounce.

“For some reason, the little area I found just kept reloading. Six of the Top 10 were fishing that same stretch, and I’d pull in behind them and still catch a 3-pounder. I don’t know why it worked—but it did.”

A Shallow-Water Strategy Rooted in Familiarity

Logan didn’t overcomplicate things—he leaned into his comfort zone. His Lake Tenkiller success was built on shallow-water jig fishing, targeting isolated cover with surgical precision.

Wes Logan fished exactly how he wanted to at Tenkiller, bumping around shallow and flipping a jig to isolated cover.

What helped elevate his performance wasn’t just instinct—it was trust in the technology on his boat.

Minn Kota and Humminbird: The Technology That Helped Logan Win

A key factor in Logan’s success was the quiet precision and efficiency of the Minn Kota Ultrex QUEST trolling motor. The stealth allowed him to fish confidently behind competitors, while its power let him quickly jump between shallow targets without missing a beat.

“The Ultrex QUEST was super quiet and let me catch key fish behind other guys effectively,” said Logan. “And LakeMaster helped me break down the lake fast and find the right stuff without wasting time.”

Humminbird’s LakeMaster mapping enabled Logan to duplicate productive areas across Lake Tenkiller, locking in on high-percentage zones with shallow cover. When it came time to fish methodically, his Minn Kota Raptors allowed him to hold tight, dissecting each spot with minimal boat movement.

“These tools were everything this week,” Logan added. “I really leaned on everything—the motor, electronics, mapping and shallow water anchors—it all worked together and helped me fish exactly how I needed to win.”

A Win That Resonates Beyond the Water

For Wes Logan, this wasn’t just a tournament win—it was a moment of redemption and validation.

“He overcame some real struggles this season, stayed true to his style, and proved to himself he belongs,” said Field Promotions Manager Tim Price. “It’s always great to see hard work pay off—especially on a day that meant so much to him and his family.”
