Veteran Offshore Racer Building 47-Foot Statement Center Console To Match Mod V Machine

Well-known in offshore racing circles, Mod-V class Relentless team owner Travis Pettko has ordered a Statement Marine 47 GTRS center console through company owner Nick Buis and dealer Randy Sweers of The Marine Group. Sweers who is spearheading production of the 47-foot model as well as a 39-foot catamaran at factory he established in Brazil, said the five-outboard-engine-powered boat center console will be painted to match the owner’s new 29-foot canopied Mod V raceboat.

Tyler Reeder, who designed and applied the paintjob for the new Relentless Mod V-class raceboat, also designed the graphics package (see rendering below) for the new center console. Per Reeder’s specifications and instructions, the 47 GTRS will be painted in Brazil.
Pettko and Buis got to know one another and became friends as competitors in the Mod V ranks. Initially, Pettko was interested in the catamaran hull-based Statement 433 center console, which was unveiled in February at the Miami International Boat Show.
“I got run to run it with Nick before the Miami show, and it was a nice boat and it handled great,” he recalled. “But I wanted more cabin.”
When Pettko learned the V-bottom center console actually is 46’4” long despite that it initially was branded as a 44-footer for marketing purposes, he was sold. His purchase will enable him to once again enjoy recreational boating—as passion he once indulged in pair of Sea-Ray yachts—in the off-season.
“The 47 GTRS is going to boast the same striking livery and signature color scheme,” Sweers said. “It’s going to be stunning.”
The boat is slated for delivery this year.

“We are working closely with Travis to ensure that every option and innovation is integrated into the final product,” Sweers explained. “It’s a one-of-a-kind, no expense-or-detail-spared build that reflects the culmination of decades of performance boat-building expertise.”
Pettko plans to combine his racing and pleasure boating pursuits at the Race World Offshore Key West World Championships in early November.
“After the Wednesday race, our plan is plan to come back to Miami and come back Thursday in the new 47 Statement with the (Florida Powerboat Club) Key West Poker Run.”
