Racing: Uzzolina Selling Stock V-Class Nobody’s Business Raceboat

A staple of Stock V-class offshore racing competition, the canopied 30-foot Phantom dubbed Nobody’s Business is for sale. Team owner/driver Chris Uzzolina of North Carolina and throttleman Rob Hartmann—who hails from Connecticut—last ran the 1998 model-year Kevlar-built 30-footer powered by Mercury Racing 525 EFI engines at the Race World Offshore World Championships in Key West, Fla., in November, where they finished second overall.

Though the Nobody’s Business raceboat is for sale, neither driver Chris Uzzolina nor throttleman Rob Hartmann are exiting the sport. Photo from 2022 Race World Offshore World Championships by Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

“We had a podium finish at almost every race this season including a win in Ohio,” said Uzzolina. “The only race we didn’t podium was in Morehead City (N.C)  because we had a transom failure.”

Sponsored by LATICRETE this season, the boat comes with a MYCO trailer, two Bell helmets and two race vests. Uzzolina is listing the turnkey, class-legal raceboat for $129,000.

But neither he nor his teammate are exiting the sport, much less going their separate ways.

“We are not getting out of racing,” said Uzzolina. “Our current sponsor has signed on for another season and we have added another sponsor as well.”

Asked to elaborate on the team’s next direction, Uzzolina declined to offer any additional comment.
