Sunsation Sun Run At 175 Entries And ‘Sort Of’ Counting

Sunsation Sun Run At 175 Entries And ‘Sort Of’ Counting

Set for July 31-August 2, the fourth annual Sunsation Boats Sun Run in the St. Clair, Mich., area officially closed registration at the end of June. Not every Sunsation owner who wanted to join in the three-day brand-celebration had registered by the deadline, of course. So Sunsation national sales and marketing manager Ryan Wenk re-opened online registration for 24 hours this week.

Now in its fourth year, the Sunsation Sun Run is shaping up to be another blockbuster brand-celebration. Photo from the 2025 Sun Run by Jeff Helmkamp copyright Helmkamp Photos.

The move led to 15 new sign-ups, which brings the current total to 175 registered sportboats and center consoles. Online registration is now closed again.

“Technically, we have closed it,” Wenk explained. “But if someone calls we’ll get them in.

“I’m sure we’ll have day-of sign-ups on site,” he added, then laughed. “That’s just the way it is.”

As usual, Sun Run participants who want to display their boats for the Thursday Street Celebration and Display in downtown New Baltimore starting at 2 p.m. cannot pre-register

“That is first-come, first-serve and we have space on the street for 75 boats,” Wenk said. “We start letting in boats at noon and close it when we’re full.

“They usually start lining up pretty early,” he added.
