Post-spawn stripers moving out of Chesapeake and Delaware bays are moving north along the Jersey Shore and 30-inchers have pushed through the Cape Cod Canal and are filling in along the South Shore of Massachusetts. With the full moon tides early next week, expect big bass to push north in waves.

Maryland/Chesapeake Bay Striper Fishing Report

Striped bass fishing is closed in all Maryland portions of the Chesapeake Bay until May 15. Boaters have reported schools of big post-spawn striped bass moving south through the bay.

Over-slot stripers are being caught on the ocean-side beaches of Maryland as big Chesapeake stripers move north.

New Jersey Striper Fishing Report

Southern New Jersey has seen an influx of 40-inch-plus stripers, with fish appearing in the Delaware Bay, off the ocean front, and in the inlets and backwaters. In the Northern half of the state, more big post-spawn bass are appearing in the ocean, while stripers continue to chase bait in Raritan Bay.

New York Striper Report

Fishing has been on fire in Jamaica Bay as 30- to 40-inch stripers (and blues) continue to spread along the south shore with slot-sized fish out to the East End. The Western Sound fishing has improved with big bass moving in on bunker schools.

Connecticut/Rhode Island Striper Report

Rhode Island fishing remains good in Narragansett Bay, with fish into the 30-inch class on bunker and herring. Larger stripers are moving into the Western Sound in good numbers and being caught in far western parts of Connecticut.

Cape Cod/Massachusetts Striper Report

A good pulse of fish from 28 to 36 inches moved through upper Buzzards Bay this week and fish in that size class have been reported in Cape Cod Bay and around Plymouth. Migratory stripers have been reported in Boston Harbor and are trickling north to Plum Island.
