Striper Migration Map – May 30, 2025

Big striped bass remain widespread throughout the Northeast, with 40-inch bass currently being caught from Southern New Jersey all the way to the North Shore of Massachusetts. Cool temperatures may have slowed the northern progress, keeping bass around longer in some locations.

Maryland/Chesapeake Bay Striper Fishing Report
Stripers are biting throughout the Bay, often hanging along the channel edges and on Sunday, the upper portions of the Bay, and the Susquehanna will reopen to striper fishing. Most are schoolie size as the large fish have almost all left the bay for Northern waters by now.
Ocean City and Indian River inlets have plenty of schoolies feeding, but reports of the larger fish along the ocean beaches have gotten sparse as the fish move north.
New Jersey Striper Fishing Report
South Jersey is still seeing big stripers around the inlets and off the beaches, while schools of 40-plus pounders continue to stage off Northern New Jersey.
New York Striper Report
Schools of big stripers are steadily pushing east along the South Shore of Long Island, while the North Shore is seeing a good schools of 20- to 40-pound fish moving through Long Island Sound.
Connecticut/Rhode Island Striper Report
The rains dirtied the waters in the rivers a bit, but large stripers are still moving along the Connecticut coast, with fish to 50 inches being caught by kayak and boat fishermen.
In Rhode Island, good stripers are following bunker schools in Narragansett Bay, and the boats making the run are finding bass around Block Island.
Cape Cod/Massachusetts Striper Report
Stripers are following juvenile sea herring and small schools of bunker in Buzzards Bay, while schools of large fish are moving through Cape Cod Bay, Boston, and on the North Shore.
New Hampshire/Maine Striper Report
Big baitfish, like mackerel and herring, are drawing larger stripers into New Hampshire and Maine waters, with the rivers still being the best places to find stripers.
