Maryland/Chesapeake Bay Striper Fishing Report

Migratory fish have all but vacated the Bay. Fishermen are catching residents now that the season is open. On the ocean side, shorts, a few slots, and a few fish just over the 31-inch maximum size are hanging around Ocean City and the inlet.

New Jersey Striper Fishing Report

Larger stripers are beginning to thin out in southern New Jersey, with a few over-slot fish still in the mix. Northern New Jersey is seeing a mix of summer patterns, with resident stripers settling into the surf eating sand fleas, and continued migration action as very large stripers continue to fall for trolled eels and metal lips for the boaters.

New York Striper Report

Long Island Sound is loaded with stripers of all sizes being caught in a variety of ways. On the South Shore, a fresh wave of big bass has hit the inlets and spread out along the beaches. Even the surfcasters are in on the action, with fish to 40-plus pounds reported this week.

Connecticut/Rhode Island Striper Report

The reefs off Connecticut are stacked with big stripers, some up to 50 inches.

In Rhode Island, a wave of very large stripers has moved in, but the schools have been on the move, and pinpointing them can be tricky at times. In addition to Narragansett Bay, the Block is also seeing schools of arriving stripers.

Cape Cod/Massachusetts Striper Report

Schools of big stripers are moving through Buzzards Bay, Cape Cod Bay, and along the South Shore to Boston Harbor, with 40-inch-plus bass hitting the North Shore as well. The back side of Cape Cod has been quiet, as the fish seem slow to spread out along those ocean beaches.

New Hampshire/Maine Striper Report

Mackerel have moved in, bringing 40-inch stripers with them. As water warms, fish that beelined for the rivers when they first arrived are dropping down to the river mouths.
