Striper Migration Map – July 3, 2025

Striper Migration Map July 3, 2025
The main migration of stripers seems to be slowing down as fish settle in to summer hotspots like Block Island, Montauk, Eastern Long Island Sound, Boston Harbor, and Maine. The fish will continue to move around over the next couple months as they follow baitfish and favorable temperatures, but with Fourth of July here, it’s time to declare the spring run over. Here’s the final Striper Migration Map for 2025.

Maryland/Chesapeake Bay Striper Fishing Report

Anglers continue to catch stripers in Chesapeake Bay, but with the extreme heat, the Maryland DNR was suggesting anglers focus their striper fishing efforts before 10 a.m., when water temperatures are at their coolest.

New Jersey Striper Fishing Report

Resident stripers are feeding in the bays and on the beaches throughout New Jersey. They are most active early in the morning or at night. Fishing sand fleas (mole crabs, sand bugs) will be one of the most effective ways to pick off these resident bass throughout the summer.

New York Striper Report

There are still good stripers spread throughout Long Island Sound, but the bulk of the big fish, on both shores of Long Island, have moved east. The Race and Montauk are the two top spots for big stripers, and will likely remain that way until the fish begin to group up and head south in September.

Connecticut/Rhode Island Striper Report

The heatwave seemed to move more bunker into Connecticut waters, which helped boost the bass fishing with stripers up to 53 inches reported on live bait and topwater lures.

It’s peak big bass season in Rhode Island, with anglers reporting bass of 50-plus pounds, both off the Mainland and Block Island. The good fishing should continue as these bass settle in for the summer.

Cape Cod/Massachusetts Striper Report

Boston and the North Shore have good numbers of striped bass. Cape Cod is holding fish, especially at Monomoy and off Provincetown.

New Hampshire/Maine Striper Report

Baitfish moved inshore in Northern New England, bringing the bass with them, and things are setting up for another great summer of striper fishing in Maine.
