Smartgyro has launched two gyroscopic stabilisers, the SG40 and SG80.
The gyros, for boats up to 70ft, are suitable for new builds and refit installations on recreational and light duty commercial powerboats.
The gyros have been developed to maximise roll reduction under every sea state and condition to improve on-board comfort.
“The SG40 and SG80 are the first in a complete range of gyroscopic stabilisers that has been meticulously designed to incorporate the key benefits that are crucial to boatbuilders and boatowners,” said Smartgyro sales manager Carlo Gazerro. “The result is an efficient, highly sophisticated product that greatly improves on-board comfort for boaters and is easy to install and maintain.”
Design innovations include a high-speed rotating flywheel in a sealed, airless enclosure to minimise heat generation and reduce power consumption.
Control electronics equipped with algorithms optimise the operating parameters in real time.
The Smartgyro units are liquid-cooled, providing the ability for the stabiliser to be placed in the places such as engine rooms without the addition of cooling auxiliary systems.
Maintenance operations can be performed on-board.
Smartgyro is backed by strategic partner Yanmar Group and its companies, including Vetus, Maxwell and Flexofold.
The SG20 for boats from 43ft to 50ft is due to be launched by early 2021.
