Sequence Of The Week—Sunrise On Harbour Island

With departure from Harbour Island for participants in the 34th annual Bahamas Poker Run looming this morning, Florida Powerboat Club office manager Megan Smith rose early. She walked across the road—smart phone in hand—from the lovely home Deep Impact Custom Boats owners Mark and Eileen Fischer secured for our group and down the narrow path that leads to the beach.

Smith was on a mission to capture the sunrise over the water, something I wanted to do yesterday but couldn’t because my iPhone is on a kitchen counter in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Forgetting my phone was bummer because I use to capture images and interviews.

Beyond that? I didn’t miss it. It’s a work tool, not the plaything I let it become. Being without it for seven days was a great reminder—as will the photo sequence above.

Thank you, Megan and Dave Smith.
