Second And Third RP Elite Series Skater Catamarans In Post-Lamination Production
Though last year was significant for Skater Powerboats dealer RP Elite Motors and Marine of Springtown, Texas, with the release of its first RP Elite Series 368 catamaran in September and its inaugural Skaterfest event on Lake Texoma a month later, 2025 is shaping up to be even more so. The next two catamarans—both 388 models powered by Mercury Racing 1100 engines—in the RP Elite series are in post-lamination production at the Douglas, Mich., facility.
Once the hulls and decks for the second and third RP Elite Series Skater models are complete and painted, the catamarans will be sent to the Texas-based dealership for rigging.
“Owned by the Means family of Ohio, our second Elite Series Skater currently is in the paint-booth,” said Ross Ramsey, the owner of the Dallas-area dealership. “Elite Series Skater No. 3 recently got ‘decked’ and is moving right along.
“Both 388s will be sent to our shop to be rigged with their 1100s,” he added.

Ramsey said the crew at RP Elite Motors and Marine has been flush with work of its own. In addition to the company’s marine service department “staying very busy through winter and now gearing up for spring,” his team has handled projects that included re-powering an Outerlimits V-bottom and refitting a Formula Boats 40SS model “from the bottom up.”
To handle the service-and-project push this year, RP Elite recently added team members. According to Ramsey, the manpower investment paid off.
RP Elite’s marine service department has been busy this winter and is gearing up for spring.
“Our workflow is the best it’s been since we opened up in 2021,” he said.
Next month, Ramsey and his wife, McKenzie, will join Skater Powerboats founder Peter Hledin and national sales manager Tony Cutsuries at the Desert Storm Poker Run, which is set for April 23-26.
“We look forward to seeing our current and future customers and celebrating McKenzie’s birthday,” he said.
