Pre-Race Scenes From XINSURANCE Offshore

Though the competition begins today at the XINSURANCE Offshore event at the Lake of the Ozarks, most teams of the 50-ish teams competing have been at the Central Missouri waterway since mid-week. And speedonthewater.com contributing photographer Jim Davis has been capturing the scene leading up to the races, which start today at 10 a.m. with Mod V- and Cat 300 classes.

Davis is filling in for longtime contributor Jeff Helmkamp, who is shooting the Dam Boat Run at Lake Murray this weekend in South Carolina.

There are plenty of intriguing plotlines in this weekend’s races. A pair of XINSURANCE Pro Class 1 team—plus a slew of teams in other classes back by the Utah-based specialty insurer—will be in the mix this weekend.

XINSURANCE will have a mighty presence this weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks.

As you see from the photo above if you look closely, the Dirty Money Racing team has added audio giant Rockford-Fosgate as a backer.

“Rockford-Fosgate will be with us for the entire season,” said Bill Pyburn, who throttles XINSURANCE North and Super Cat-class Dirty Money Racing team raceboats alongside driver Brit Lilly.

Pyburn, who earned a Super Class World Championship last year with the Dirty Money team, is a rookie in the Pro Class 1 ranks. Another rookie of note, Super Stock-class Wozencraft Racing team owner/driver Jeremy Tschida will be looking to improve on the two second-place finishes his team has earned so far this season.
