Phenom Yachts brings new brand to boating landscape

Combining the attributes of family, fishing, luxury and performance into one center console is no easy feat, but Phenom Yachts has arrived on the scene to prove that it can be done. The new high-end center console yacht manufacturer officially made its debut at last year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) and will be on display during this year’s Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show.

Phenom Yachts was founded by marine industry veteran, Tommy Hancock, who will serve as president of the new company. Hancock credits his experience in the marine manufacturing sector for realizing the great need in the market for family-friendly luxury and performance-based center console yachts.

“Now more than ever, families are looking for a boat that combines both luxury and performance with what they love to do on the water,” Hancock said. “This need in the boating industry turned into a vision, which became the Phenom Yachts brand. From there we set out to do something that was yet to be done – design a center console like nothing else that has ever been created matched to an elevated customer journey experience.”

When Phenom Yachts officially launched, there where two 37-foot yachts on display. At the upcoming Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show, Phenom will display a 34- and 37-foot model.

“Our market research told us that customers would like the choice of ‘family friendly and fishing friendly’ center consoles,” Hancock added. “The next generation of boating demands spaces that feel elegant, while maintaining flexibility of use.”

In the design of the boats, careful consideration was given to passenger comfort, resulting in wider beam widths and a variety of high-end features.

All Phenom Yachts will come standard with brands known throughout the world, such as Garmin, JL Audio, Lumitec and Seakeeper. “A lot of thought and engineering went into designing these boats around the most important customer features and one of the keys to that is our technology,” said Seakeeper President & CEO Andrew Semprevivo. “Phenom Yachts will be first-class in performance, comfort and overall useability.”

Powering the Phenom 37 will be either twin 600 horsepower or triple 400 horsepower Mercury Outboards with an estimated range of over 400 miles on a full tank and a top speed over 70 mph.

“The power of our Mercury outboards, combined with the performance engineering of the Phenom hulls, will make for outstanding performance on the water,” said Randy Caruana, Mercury vice president of sales. “This is an exciting time in our industry, and we’re energized by partnerships such as this that drive innovation and enhance boaters’ experiences.”

Building on the luxury of the brand, a factory-direct experience, including a concierge service will accompany customers from day one to support them through each step of the build process. This experience continues through ownership.

Garmin is proud to be the electronics choice for Phenom Yachts,” said Dave Dunn, Garmin’s Senior Director of Marine Sales. “Collectively utilizing our EmpirBus technology, we have created an enhanced user experience that’s customized for the Phenom customer. The perfect combination of superior technology and reliability, we’re confident that Garmin’s onboard electronics will enhance the boating experience and we look forward to providing our mutual customers with the highest level of style, sophistication and innovation on the water.”

“It’s been my dream to help fulfill what the customers and the market, both want and need. I’m proud of the Phenom Yachts team and I am excited to share our extraordinary new line of yachts with the world,” Hancock remarked.
