Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation Expands Education to 74,000 More Students

As demand for outdoor education surges nationwide, generous donors have stepped up to help the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation (OTF) bring its Outdoor Adventures curriculum to tens of thousands more students annually.

Donor Support Fuels Rapid Program Expansion

DALLAS, TEXAS – MAY 21, 2025 – With over 2,000 schools on a waiting list to implement Outdoor Adventures, new donations are making a powerful impact—reaching an estimated 74,000 additional students each year.

Thanks to the support of several key donors, schools across Texas and even Alaska are receiving the funding they need to launch the life-changing outdoor education program.

North Texas: Sportsmen’s Club of Fort Worth Funds 100 Schools

In North Texas, the Sportsmen’s Club of Fort Worth made a major donation to fund Outdoor Adventures in 100 schools across Tarrant County, directly impacting students in:

  • Northwest ISD

  • Birdville ISD

  • Burleson ISD

  • Azle ISD

  • Decatur ISD

  • Springtown ISD

East Texas: Tyler ISD Becomes a Model District

A group of generous donors—Wilson, Susan, and Ashley Stout, along with Evan Peterson, Jonny Mac, and Stacey Powers—came together to fund 26 schools in Tyler ISD. This makes Tyler ISD the second-largest district in Texas to offer the curriculum at every campus.

South Texas: Los Huellas Foundation Backs 30+ Schools

In Brownsville ISD, the Los Huellas Foundation provided funding for Outdoor Adventures in more than 30 elementary schools, bringing critical outdoor learning opportunities to one of Texas’s southernmost communities.

Alaska Milestone: Anchorage School District Fully Funded

In a historic national first, the Dr. Don and Val Senter Family donated to fund all 95 schools in the Anchorage School District, making it the first large school district outside of Texas to be 100% funded through a single donation.

This groundbreaking contribution could serve as a model for similar district-wide efforts across the country.

Real-World Impact on Students

“Thanks to the generosity of these donors, more than 74,000 students will learn wildlife conservation and outdoor skills that many would never otherwise be experiencing. The skills taught through Outdoor Adventures will forever change these students’ lives.”
Scot McClure, Director of Education, Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation
