Northerly Island Visitor Center Reopens to the Public

Following an extensive restoration after damage from a fire in 2023, the Northerly Island Visitor Center has reopened to the public, offering a place to relax, access to restrooms and year-round adventure programming for the community.

Situated on Northerly Island within the 119.7 acre park on Chicago’s Museum Campus, the visitor center now features a fully restored lobby, new windows and new efficient and environmentally friendly LED lighting.

“I am extremely grateful to the public for their patience during the restoration process and to our team for helping to reactivate this community asset that offers more access to nature-based programming opportunities,” says General Superintendent and CEO Carlos Ramirez-Rosa.

The center is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm. To learn more, visit chicagoparkdistrict.com.
