Nor-Tech At 35—On The Lake Cumberland Stage
Last weekend was a big one for Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats at Lake Cumberland in Kentucky. On the opening day of the annual Thunder Run, Unlimited Marine of Russell Springs, announced it was taking on the Nor-Tech line. The Mercury Marine/Mercury Racing-certified dealership, which also carries towed-sports and fishing boat lines, has ordered 390 and 340 sport center consoles. The boats will be completed and available for purchase ahead of the 2026 season.
Captured in a rare quiet moment, the latest Nor-Tech 4000 Roadster catamaran attracted plenty of attention last weekend.
Unlimited Marine is Nor-Tech’s first dealer in the Bluegrass State. And Lake Cumberland is the epicenter of high-performance boating in Kentucky.
The dealership’s Dan and Julie Weiss represented the brand throughout weekend in their own 390 Sport center console, of course. Using a clever two-pole setup, they flew the Unlimited Marine banner at the Conley Bottom lunch stop on Saturday during the Thunder Run, which they organize with their friend Justin Lucas. The couple also spent both days answering questions from would-be Nor-Tech buyers as well random passersby.
Folks walking State Dock planks, so to speak, also got a gander of something new from the Cape Coral, Fla., thanks to Ontario, Canada-based dealer Double R Performance. Dealership co-owners Peter and Raymond Roberts displayed the latest 4000 Roadster catamaran powered by quad Mercury Racing 500R outboard engines.
The 40-footer is third model to be completed since the cat was introduced during the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. As hull No. 1 did in Fort Lauderdale, hull No. 3 created a choke-point of sorts at the docks courtesy of event participants, go-fast boating fans and others who stopped to look at it.
Nor-Tech’s Kentucky roll—and role—is just getting started.
