Nor-Tech At 35—A Super Center For The Ozarks Outpost
A dapper and charismatic gentleman out of St. Louis, Mo., Marvin Dufner is Nor-Tech’s longest-standing dealer. Dufner is a Nor-Tech man from top to bottom, and he has sold a slew of models for the Cape Coral, Fla., headquartered company through his Midwest Boating Center dealership at the Lake of the Ozarks. His friendship with Nor-Tech co-founder Trond Schou goes back to boat-builder’s early days. Together, they’ve seen Nor-Tech through its best and worst times. They’re tight.
Some six years in the making, Midwest Boating Center’s new facility will celebrate its grand opening in early June.
Now Dufner has a another Nor-Tech distinction. He owns the newest facility in the company’s 15-dealer network. And it opens next month.
Nine months ago, Midwest Boating Center broke ground on its new 12,000-square-foot “Super Center” facility in Lake Ozark, Mo. The location will celebrate its grand opening on June 6, which will be followed the next day by the dealership’s annual Nor-Tech Owners Fun Run on the lake.
Dufner purchased the land for the facility in 2019.The pandemic the following year and other issues led to delays, but now that’s in the rearview.
“Everything takes a little longer than you think, and the pandemic added to that,” Dufner said shortly after the September 2024 groundbreaking. “It’s been a long time coming, but we’re moving now and we are excited to get this open for our new and existing customers.”

The completed new space has both showroom and warehouse sides. The showroom include sales and administrative offices, a conference room to host clients ordering new Nor-Tech models, a parts room and a break room.
Equipped with four 15-foot-tall, 18-foot-wide high-tech glass doors in aluminum frames, the warehouse boasts a polished floor for displaying new Nor-Tech, Everglades and NAVAN Boats models, as well as a variety of pre-owned boats and a service area.
