Noah Nguyen Wins BAM Scholastic Series on the California Delta

Noah Nguyen Wins BAM Scholastic Series on the California Delta with 22.89 Pounds and a 7.53 Big Fish!
High School Anglers Gain Real Tournament Experience Fishing Behind the Pros
OAKLEY, Calif. – Noah Nguyen made a major statement at the BAM Scholastic Series – High School Division event held May 29–30 on the California Delta. With a 22.89-pound limit and a 7.53-pound big fish, Nguyen secured the Bridgford Foods 1st Place Trophy and climbed the leaderboard in the Angler of the Year standings.
The BAM Scholastic Series gives high school anglers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to gain real tournament experience by fishing behind professional anglers for two full days. While they compete in their own high school division, these student co-anglers learn on-the-water tactics, professionalism, and decision-making directly from top-tier pros.
At the end of the season, the AOY winner earns a $25,000 annual scholarship to compete on the Simpson University Bass Team—a nationally ranked program currently sitting at #37 in the country.
Nguyen’s teammate, Tyler Peterson, took home 2nd Place, keeping himself firmly in AOY contention as part of the East Bay Student Anglers program. Tyler Peterson also took home a $50 Tackle Warehouse gift card which awarded at each BAM Scholastic event.
Logan Joudrey, the youngest angler in the field, placed 3rd, proving he’s one to watch as he begins his tournament journey—following in his father’s footsteps.
Upcoming High School Events
Next up, the BAM Scholastic Series heads to Potholes Reservoir later this month and then Boardman, Oregon.
If you’re a high school angler—or know someone who is—this is your chance to fish a professional-level event, compete for scholarships, and build the foundation for a future in competitive bass fishing.
