International Paint has released a range of new products including a propeller primer and the Perfection Pro series comprising topcoat, undercoat and varnish.
Propeller Primer is a one-part primer specifically formulated for use on outdrives, outboard legs, propellers and stern gear.
It uses dual-activated bonding technology to form a tough bond with a range of substrates when overlain with International’s recommended antifouling.
“It provides adhesion between the propeller and the antifouling,” explained Amanda Johnson, International product manager. “Unless the primer carries out its job well, the antifoul will not stick to the propeller. We’re really excited about this product, it’s a real solution for boat owners and yards.”
The primer is suitable for application with bronze, aluminium and stainless steel and is compatible with Trilux 33 and Trilux Prop O Drev.
Perfection Pro is a two-part polyurethane topcoat with a high gloss finish, suitable for use on any substrate.
“It’s a complete family that International has created,” said Amanda. “The market has been telling us what products it wants and we’ve responded.”
Perfection Pro is a paint mixing system providing concentrated tint bases that are then mixed with binders.
Available in a wide range of colours, the paint can be applied by spray or brush/roller and is resistant to UV, fuel, oil, mild acids and detergents.
Formulated for use with the topcoat, the Protection Pro Undercoat is a fast-drying, three-part polyurethane undercoat formulated for brush and roller application.
Completing the family is the Perfection Pro Varnish, a two-part polyurethane varnish ideally suited to oily woods such as teak. The product has a high gloss finish and offers UV protection and is chemical and abrasion resistant.
