New Midwest Boating Center Headquarters Take Center Stage

Just nine months ago, the new Midwest Boating Super Center site was a grassy dirt lot on Bagnell Dam Boulevard in Lake Ozark, Mo. Now it is home to the newest facility in the Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats dealer network, a striking, modern 12,000-square-foot space with an expansive showroom, offices and more.

The sparkling new 12,000-square-foot Midwest Boating Center facility celebrated its grand opening yesterday
Owner Marvin Dufner, the Cape Coral, Fla., company’s longest-standing dealer, celebrated the facility’s completion yesterday with an open-house event. More than 200 guests, from Nor-Tech owners to industry types to curious passersby looking for something fun to explore on a rainy day at the Lake of the Ozarks, stopped in for the catered afternoon affair.
Kevin Skiba of Mercury Racing was among the high-performance marine industry types on hand.
“It’s a really impressive place, and really impressive that they built it in nine months,” Skiba said. ‘

Marvin Dufner (center) cut the ribbon to open his dealership’s new headquarters.
Dufner purchased the land in 2019.
“It took a little longer than expected to get started,” he said, then smiled as he peered into a showroom that had more than enough space to handle the four Nor-Tech center consoles and one Navan sportboat on display.
Told that the space looked as if it could easily accommodate three more large boats, Dufner nodded toward the dealership’s foyer. “And you could put another one right there and there would still be plenty of space,” he said.

Sales and administration offices flank the expansive foyer.
The dealership’s primary entry point for customers, the foyer was designed to accommodate almost any boat in the Nor-Tech line. The area is flanked by sales and administration offices, and it opens into Midwest Boat Center’s main showroom.
During dinner last night, Jason Taylor, the outfit’s general manager couldn’t stop grinning. It had been a long Friday ahead of today’s Nor-Tech Owners Rendezvous on the lake, Taylor and company had been busy.
But like the last nine months, it was the right kind of busy—the kind that produces excitement and momentum for the business.
“It’s open now and it’s beautiful,” he said. “It was more than worth the wait.”

Midwest Boating Center heads into the summer boating season with a new facility and plenty of momentum.
