New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club Reunion In The Offing

Founded in 1999 by the late Ray Patnaude, the New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club was a powerhouse in its heyday. Frequent names on club-event rosters included heavy-hitting performance-boat owners such as Bob Christie, Pete Mazzo, Tom Toto and more. From turbine engine-powered catamarans to brawny V-bottoms, NJPPC fleets never failed to impress.

The outfit thrived in its first 10 years, but began a steady decline following the recession of 2008. Club president Dave Patnaude, the son of club’s founder, worked hard to keep it going but shuttered the club in early 2019.
Now it’s coming back—at least for one early summer weekend. Patnaude is organizing the inaugural NJPPC Reunion, June 20-21, at the Golden Nugget Resort and Casino in Atlantic City. He’s secured a reduced room-rate and dockage for the group.

Ray Patnaude and his son, Dave, brought the NJPPC to prominence.
“It’s been six years since we closed the club,” Patnaude explained. “Over the last several years, a few of us have gotten together and said we should have an official reunion so we can all see each other. So I decided to reach out to the Golden Nugget—one of our favorite destinations—and put it together.
“All former members, sponsors and friends are welcome,” he added. “Details will be emailed out and posted on Facebook in the near future.”
