Mystic C4000 Catamaran Delivery To Connecticut Owners Connects The Dots

In late 2024, Frank and Bernadette Adams traveled from their home in Connecticut to Central Florida with the goal of ordering a Mystic Powerboats M4200 center console. By the time they left the DeLand headquartered company, they had a new C4000 catamaran powered by twin 500-hp Mercury Racing outboard engines in the works.

The Adams’ 40-footer is the most recent C4000 catamaran delivered.

The couple previously owned and loved a Mystic M3800 center console. But Frank Adams was hoping he could sway his bride into something more sporty, so he set up a demo ride with Cosker in one of his 40-foot cats.

And it worked.

“We were in the boat five minutes and Bernadette said, ‘We’ve got to get one of these,’” Adams recalled, then laughed. “She was blown away at how well it handled the water at speed. We both felt extremely safe and confident in the boat. And we could still have a conversation when it was running.

The couple appreciates the cat’s spacious and easily accessible interior.

“I did look at a few other cats, and I was blown away by the size of this one—it looks bigger than it is and it feels substantial,” he continued. “We love the cockpit layout and how easy it is to get on and off the boat.”

A soft-spoken, Connecticut Yankee to his core, Cosker values his Northeastern marine roots. They show up big in his seaworthy center consoles and catamarans, which reflect his extensive experience with the often ill-tempered waters off New England. So the delivery of the twin 500-hp outboard engine-powered 40-footer to the couple via his longtime friend and Ocean Performance principal Chris Cestaro in Old Saybrook, Conn., was special to him. It represented a homecoming of sorts.

“Connecticut is where it all started for me,” he said. “And I think it’s the best-performing C4000 we’ve delivered yet. So to have it there is like coming full circle.”

Mystic delivered the 40-footer just in time for the New England boating season.

Adams said he will keep the catamaran in a Sea Pen-equipped slip not far from the couple’s home this summer. Ocean Performance will store the 40-footer for the couple during the winter.

But that’s several months in the distance. The Adams have an entire summer—one they hope will at times include their 21- and 24-year-old daughters Cameron and Dylan—of boating to do.

“We’ll do most of our boating here, but there aren’t really any organized events like poker runs in our area,” Adams said. “We have no plans yet, but we definitely want to take it to a few places such as Lake Cumberland.”

Captured here with his daughter, Dylan, Frank Adams arrived at Mystic with a center console in mind but left with a catamaran on the company’s build-sheet.
