Massachusetts Offers Free Learn-to-Fish Events


Spring is in full swing, and there’s no better time to introduce yourself or your family to the joys of fishing. MassWildlife’s Angler Education Program offers a series of free, family-friendly “Learn to Fish” events across the Commonwealth. These sessions are designed for beginners of all ages, providing hands-on instruction in rod setup, knot tying, casting techniques, and fish identification.
What to Expect:
- No fishing license required for participants.
- All skill levels welcome, from novices to those looking to refresh their skills.
- Equipment and bait provided, though attendees are encouraged to bring their own gear if they have it.
- Instruction by experienced anglers, ensuring a supportive and informative environment.
