Taylor Scism, the former driver of the 39-footer and current vice-president of MTI, stepped away from competition earlier this season for a couple of reasons. Not only are Scism and Shaun Peters, her husband, expecting their first child in October, her responsibilities at the Wentzville, Mo., company her father, Randy Scism, founded in 1994.
We are grateful for the opportunity the Scisms are inviting us to be a part of,” said Miller, who In addition into to his Pro Class 1 Skater catamaran owns an MTI-V 50 center console. “We are ready to go race against the best in the class at Lake of The Ozarks and hoping to make Taylor proud.”

Added Coil, “We are excited. It’s very cool, and we want to do the MTI family proud.”
Scism is equally delighted to have such robust representation in the class—formerly 450R Factory Stock before the class moved this year to Mercury Racing 500R outboard engines necessitated a class name change—to have such strong representation. Not only are Miller two of the strongest competitors in the sport, the Lake of the Ozarks is their home-water, as it is for Scism.
“I am very excited to have the two of them in the cockpit,” she said. “They both have so much experience on the racecourse. I am very thankful they agreed to do it.”
