KICKER Marine Audio Speakers Earn Top Honor From Bonnier Publications

The presenting sponsor of the upcoming Desert Storm and Super Cat Fest in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., in April, Kicker Marine Audio will head into the April happenings with yet another honor to its credit. The Stillwater, Okla.-headquartered company has earned the 2023 “Best In Entertainment” award in Bonnier’s Corporation’s third-year Best Marine Electronics and Technology competition for its new series of KMXL marine speakers.

Based in Winter Park, Fla., Bonnier publishes a range of outdoor-activity-based magazines including Boating, Yachting, Saltwater Sportsman and Cruising World. The company’s Best Marine Electronics and Technology honors span several categories and are selected by eight judges from the publishers.

“Kicker’s new speakers provide a clear full-range sound advantage thanks to a unique combination of a tangential full range cone surrounded by a responsive woofer,” said Randy Vance, a veteran marine writer and editor-at-large for Bonnier. “And they’re compact enough to replace most tweeter/woofer dual speakers.”

According to a Kicker Marine Audio press release, the new KMXL horn-loaded coaxial loudspeakers incorporate several unique features that set them apart from traditional marine speakers. A proprietary high-frequency horn design gives the KMXL series “superior sonic performance, providing incredibly smooth and easy listening, even at extremely high volumes.” This proprietary horn geometry prevents acoustic resonances and standing waves, for fatigue-free, long-term enjoyment. Super-efficient, lightweight midrange cone assemblies and advanced built-in crossover networks round out the KMXL designs for “unrivaled sound performance and ease of installation.”
