KelTec Steps Up As Title Sponsor For Thunder On Cocoa Beach

Since 2017, KelTec has been a presenting sponsor for Thunder On Cocoa Beach, offshore racing’s traditional season in Cocoa Beach, Fla. Now the locally based firearms manufacturer has stepped up to the title sponsor, and the inaugural KelTec Thunder On Cocoa Beach event is set for May 15-18.

“Partnering with KelTec has always been a natural fit,” said Kerry Bartlett, the executive director of Thunder on Cocoa Beach, in a press release from the event. “Both offshore racing and KelTec are rooted in American ingenuity, cutting-edge technology, and a commitment to excellence. We’re excited to have them on board as title sponsor as we kick off what promises to be our biggest year yet.”

According to the release, the company “has long been a staple of the local economy and a supporter of community initiatives.” Derek Kellgren, KelTec’s managing director, described the outfit’s “commitment to innovation and American manufacturing” as a “perfect for the event celebrating speed, power and community spirit.”

“We’re proud to support an event that puts Cocoa Beach on the national stage,” he said. “Thunder on Cocoa Beach draws thrill-seekers, families, and racing enthusiasts from across the country—many of whom share our values and interests.

“It’s an incredible opportunity to give back to our local community and connect with them in a big way,” he added.
