Image Of Week: Game Face And-A-Half

There are two Tyler Millers, the owner of the Pro Class 1 Monster Energy/M CON team competing at the XINSURANCE Offshore today and tomorrow at the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. The first is a proper, gentleman, a gracious multi-time world and national champion from Kansas who represents his team, his backer and—most important to Miller and his wife, Lindsey—his family in impeccable fashion.

He is warm and approachable, thoughtful, plain-spoken and articulate. He’s a sponsor’s dream.

Then there is the other Tyler Miller, the intensely focused throttleman only driver Myrick Coil gets to see. That Miller breathes fire every time he gets inside the cockpit. No matter how many times he takes a checkered flag, his goal is take another. At least as a goal, anything less is unacceptable.

This Tyler Miller, too, is a sponsor’s dream.

So which Miller is captured in the cool Jim Davis captured photo above? Having closely followed his career from its earliest days, I’d have to say it’s the second one.

But only Coil can say for sure.
